Researchers Say Screen Men When They Accompany Women to Ob/Gyn Office

The obstetrician's office provides a unique opportunity for screening men for high blood pressure, concludes a study in the September 2000 issue of the American Journal of Hypertension.

The study, by researchers from Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri, was designed to determine the frequency of unrecognized elevated blood pressure in 191 men who accompanied pregnant women for an examination by their obstetrician.
