Endometrial Cancer-Related Deaths Increasing

Gynecologic oncologists are urging women to learn more about their gynecologic health during Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. The rate of death from endometrial cancer has shot up by 128% since 1987, according to experts from the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) who examined American Cancer Society statistics. In addition, they found that endometrial cancer accounts for 25% of all gynecologic cancer-related deaths. The estimated number of women who die from endometrial cancer each year exceeds 6,500 - more than double the number 14 years ago.
