Digene acquires rights to chlamydia/gonorrhea tests

Digene Corp. (DIGE) has reacquired from Abbott Laboratories (ABT) the exclusive rights to distribute Digene's chlamydia and gonorrhea (CT/GC) tests and accessories worldwide.

Under a marketing and distribution agreement between Digene and Abbott Laboratories, Digene had provided Abbott with exclusive distribution rights to the Digene CT/GC tests in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Digene plans to begin distributing the CT/GC Tests in the U.S. and in Europe.
