Report: Breast disease detection/diagnostic market may approach $600 million

New analysis from Medtech Insight, LLC, projects that the U.S. market for breast disease-specific detection and diagnostic technologies will grow to approximately $590 million in sales in 2002, up from $506 million in 2001. According to Medtech Insight's newly published market and technology report, "U.S. Markets for Breast Disease Detection and Diagnostic Technologies, 2001-2011," breast biopsy will continue to represent the largest market segment in terms of sales of products for open and percutaneous procedures, totaling $180.3 million this year.
