ETS-1 may be angiogenic mediator

A team of researchers in Japan has studied the potential role of ETS-1 as an angiogenic mediator in uterine endometrial and cervical cancers. They presented their findings in two studies published in the Annals of Oncology.

"Angiogenesis is essential for development, growth, and advancement of solid tumors. During angiogenesis, ETS-1 is strongly expressed in vascular endothelial cells and the adjacent interstitial cells, while the inhibition of ETS-1 expression leads to suppression of angiogenesis," wrote J.
