According to recent research published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, "bone mineral density (BMD) has been shown to be increased in postmenopausal females with post-thyroidectomy hypoparathyroidism, but it is not known whether similar gains occur in patients with idiopathic hypoparathyroidism.
