The Society spoke out in support of an article in the August 2003 edition of Human Fertility that highlights the scientific hazards of cloning.
Dr. Lorraine Young, Nottingham University, U.K., highlighted some of the practical problems and uncertainties which would surround the cloning of humans. She says that there are three main areas of concern: miscarriages, birth defects, and long-term health.
