Diagnostics manufacturers focus on West Nile and Epstein-Barr viruses

Panbio and Adaltis U.S., Inc., announced a strategic alliance that is focused on the North American market and integrates Panbio's West Nile and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) range of ELISA diagnostic products with Adaltis laboratory instrumentation.

The Panbio test for West Nile virus was introduced earlier this year in response to the rapid spread of the disease in North America (which in more severe cases can cause encephalitis or meningitis). Panbio's test is currently the only product on the market with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for the diagnosis of the disease in humans.
