Physical activity reduces breast cancer risk in young women

Study finds a significantly reduced risk of developing breast cancer among 12-24-year-old females who performed recreational physical activity. "Physical activity habits are potentially modifiable and could, therefore, be targeted in a primary prevention strategy against breast cancer, provided there is causality and a sufficiently strong relationship. Our objective of this quantitative review was to provide a summary estimate of the association of moderate/vigorous recreational physical activity during adolescence/young adulthood with breast cancer risk, and to determine whether a dose-response relationship exists," scientists in Sweden report. ...
