Mentor licenses patent covering method for treating urinary incontinence

Mentor Corp. (MNT), a leading supplier of medical products in the United States and internationally, announced that it has signed a nonexclusive license agreement with C.R. Bard covering the transobturator approach described in Mentor's U.S. patent no. 6,638,211 B2.

The transobturator patent covers a novel method for treating urinary incontinence in women that avoids many of the risks associated with other approaches. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
