Aromasin after Tamoxifen lessens breast cancer recurrence in study

Oncologists at Texas Oncology, P.A., participated in a worldwide research project that showed that women recovering from breast cancer lowered their chance of developing tumor recurrence by 32% if they switched to Aromasin (exemestane) after 2 or 3 years of tamoxifen treatment.

Currently, the standard after-surgery treatment for post-menopausal women with primary breast cancer is a 5-year regimen of tamoxifen.

Led by Manish Gupta, Gerardo Trillo, and Charles S. White, Texas Oncology was one of 11 affiliates of U.S. Oncology that participated in the clinical trial.
