Researchers induced diabetes in pregnant TO mice on the second day of gestation and then administered one does of either 0.003 or 0.03 ml/g body weight of ethanol into the diabetic mice and a group of nondiabetic mice on gestational days (GD) 7 or 8. Additionally, 6-8 IU of insulin were injected daily into one group of diabetic mice.
When the researchers collected the fetal mice on GD 18, they observed "a significant increase in the incidence of implantation failure...
