Small risk of heritable cancer among patients in Scottish general practices

Based on patients' response on a questionnaire, it appears the risk of heritable cancers in at least on town in Scotland is pretty low.

"A cross-sectional survey of all patients aged 30-65 in four general practices within one Local Healthcare Cooperative in Fife, Scotland, was undertaken to measure the prevalence of family history of colorectal, breast, and ovarian cancer. A total of 7,619 patients aged 30-65 responded to a postal questionnaire (response rate 59%)," wrote E. Wallace and colleagues, Western General Hospital, SE Scotland Genetics Service, Midlothian.
