Use of biomarkers to detect cervical dysplasia, cancer a 'success'

TriPath Imaging, Inc. (TPTH) announced that data from in-house studies of an early version of its multiple biomarkers demonstrated a sensitivity of 93%, a specificity of 92%, a negative predictive value of 97%, and a positive predictive value of 79%. These results were for biopsy proven moderate to severe cervical dysplasia in a retrospective cohort of cervical samples.
