Executive function is less sensitive to estradiol than spatial memory

Experiments with rhesus monkeys show that executive processes, handled by the brain's frontal lobes, are less sensitive to estradiol than spatial memory, which depends on input from the hippocampus. "Functions supported by the frontal lobes are particularly sensitive to the detrimental effects of aging.
