Approval sought for exemestane tablets as therapy for postmenopausal women

Pfizer announced on December 8, 2004, that it submitted a supplemental new drug application (sNDA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seeking approval for Aromasin (exemestane tablets) in the adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women with estrogen-receptor (ER+) positive or receptor-unknown early-stage breast cancer. Aromasin is a hormonal therapy that belongs to a class of drugs called aromatase inhibitors, which work by blocking the production of estrogen.
