In rats arthritis suppresses bone formation induced by mechanical loading

A small study conducted in adult female rats found that arthritis suppressed the bone formation induced by mechanical loading. Y. Kameyama from Tottori University, Japan, and colleagues used a rat model of collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) to study the effects of inflammation on the response of bone to mechanical stress. "Six-month-old female Wistar rats were used in the experiment.
