Study of C. trachomatis infection conducted in U.S. teens at high risk for HIV

Researchers at the University of Alabama have conducted a prospective study of the epidemiologic and genetic associations of Chlamydia trachomatis infection among U.S. adolescents who are at high risk for acquiring HIV-1. Of the 124 male and 361 female adolescents, 70% were African American, and 68% had HIV-1 infection.
