HRT's effects aren't synergistic with those of physical activity in older women

A study in postmenopausal women found no interactive relationship between physical activity and use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in terms of beneficial effects on cognitive function. J.L. Etnier and colleagues, University of North Carolina, Greensboro, administered a questionnaire regarding physical activity to 101 postmenopausal women, and also collected demographic information from them. The women each performed the digit-symbol substitution task (DSST) and the trail-making tests (TMT). According to the researchers, "Regression analyses were conducted for participants with complete data for each cognitive test (DSST n=62; TMT n=69)." ...
