New high dose rate brachytherapy technology shows promise in U.K.

Varian Medical Systems' GammaMed afterloader eases brachytherapy treatments and provides for effective treatment note oncologists at Bristol Oncology Centre in the United Kingdom. Bristol Oncology Centre is introducing a high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy program using technology from Varian Medical Systems to accelerate treatments and potentially improve outcomes in gynecological cancers.
