First European commercial implant of aortic stentless tissue valve performed

St. Jude Medical, Inc. (STJ) announced the first commercial European implant of the Toronto SPV II tissue heart valve, the company's aortic stentless tissue valve. The implant was performed at Hospital Puerta del Mar in Cadiz, Spain, by Jose M(a) Jimenez Moreno, MD, chief, cardiac surgery, and assisted by Tomas Daroca, MD, and Miguel Angel Gomez Vidal, MD, both cardiac surgeons.
