Prevalence of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) use is high among menopausal women in Australia, and not without significant rates of side effects, researchers note. S. Gollschewski and colleagues, Queensland University of Technology, conducted a study "to identify the prevalence and types of CAM used by women during menopause and explore potential associations between CAM use and menopausal symptoms." Their study cohort was "886 randomly selected menopausal women aged 47-67 years who participated in a postal questionnaire on the menopause experience."
