U.K. NHS Strategic Health Authority to adopt ThinPrep Pap Test

Cytyc Corp. (CYTC) reported that the Strategic Health Authority (SHA) of the National Health Service (NHS), covering Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridge, United Kingdom (U.K.), intends to convert all cervical screening to the ThinPrep Pap Test in all eight of its laboratories. There are currently 174,000 tests processed in the Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridge SHA each year. This exclusive arrangement represents a potential use of approximately 800,000 ThinPrep Pap Tests over the next 5 years.
