Data presented on high-dose weekly Abraxane

American Pharmaceutical Partners, Inc., (APPX) announced positive results from a recent phase II clinical study indicating that weekly administration of Abraxane (nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel) resulted in long-term disease control in patients with metastatic breast cancer whose disease had progressed while being treated with Taxol or Taxotere (patients who are taxane-refractory). In addition, American Bioscience, Inc., (ABI) presented two posters detailing the transport mechanisms of the paclitaxel albumin-bound nanoparticle protein.
