Breast conservation therapy may warrant plastic surgery consultation in protocol

Study data from Loma Linda University in California show that asymmetry in breast conservation therapy patients may warrant the addition of plastic surgery consultation as part of the treatment protocol. "Localized breast cancer can be treated with lumpectomy and postoperative radiation therapy, also called breast conservation therapy, with an efficacy equivalent to that of mastectomy.
