Further study needed on safety of St. John's wort during pregnancy, lactation

Researchers say more study is needed to determine the safety of using St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) during pregnancy and breastfeeding. "The popularity of St. John's wort ... for the treatment of depression is increasing and, in recent years, concerns about its use during pregnancy and breastfeeding have emerged," noted B.
