Gender doesn't appear to affect rehospitalization risk

Among a random sample of adult patients with congestive heart failure, gender didn't affect risk of hospital re-admission for the disease, researchers report. "Congestive heart failure (CHF) is the leading cause of hospitalization in the elderly, and these patients are at high risk for subsequent hospitalization. Whether gender affects the risk of rehospitalization in patients who have CHF is less well understood," wrote W.Y. Lee and colleagues, Kaiser Permanente Northern California.
