Estradiol and testosterone levels in follicular fluid predict oocyte maturity

Estradiol and testosterone levels in follicular fluid can be used to predict oocyte maturity, but not in vitro fertilization rate, according to a study from Brazil.

L.O.B. Costa and colleagues [examined] the association between follicular fluid (FF) steroid concentration and oocyte maturity and fertilization rates.

They worked with 17 infertile women who underwent ovulation induction with urinary human follicle-stimulating hormone, human menopausal gonadotropin, and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).
