Investigators in the United States and Wales have published new breast cancer data. Study 1: Study data show risk of recurrence of axillary lymph node involvement in ductal carcinoma in situ is low enough that nodal sampling or dissection is unnecessary in these cases. "Widespread use of screening mammography has resulted in a remarkable increase in the incidence (or detection rate) of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).
