Study finds survivors adopt some healthy behaviors, but not eating and exercise

A study by nurse-researchers found that while breast cancer survivors had adopted some healthy behaviors, they tended not to adhere fully to the American Cancer Society guidelines for nutrition and physical activity. "Using secondary data analysis, the aim [of the study] was to determine if postmenopausal women, who have survived breast cancer, have adopted healthy nutritional and physical activity behaviors recommended in the American Cancer Society guidelines as cancer risk-reduction strategies, and in guidelines for prevention of other chronic diseases or for improving general health," wrote A.M. Lindsey and colleagues, University of Nebraska. ...
