Study finds association between amygdala volume and ER-alpha gene variations

A study from the Netherlands found statistically significant differences in amygdala function among people with different estrogen receptor alpha genotypes. T. Denheijer and colleagues, Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, said, "The role of estrogens in Alzheimer's disease (AD) is controversial.
