Study: Intrauterine insemination using GnRH antagonist has its place in ART

Intrauterine insemination using a gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist has its place as a tool for assisted reproduction, endocrinologists say. For their study, M. Ludwig and colleagues, Endokrinol Hamburg, prospectively counseled and selected 64 patients for intrauterine insemination. "All patients were counseled and selected based on a standardized scheme and treated over 133 insemination cycles. Mean age was 33.05±3.92 years with a mean duration of infertility of 2.63±1.49 years. Around two-thirds of patients suffered from primary infertility," according to the study.
