Genyx sale complete; FDA approves urethral bulking agent

Genyx Medical, Inc., of Aliso Viejo, California, announced the final closing of its agreement with C.R. Bard, Inc., (BCR) for the sale of Genyx to Bard for $60 million. The final closing followed U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval on December 16, 2004 of Genyx's premarket application for URYX, a urethral bulking agent for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence. Since its founding and initial venture capital funding in March 1998, Genyx has been developing products for urological and gynecological tissue bulking and vessel occlusion.
