Surgical abortion has higher rate of successful outcome than medical method

University of Copenhagen ob/gyns compared outcome of medical and surgical abortions to provide more information for women choosing between the two methods. C. Rorbye and colleagues said, "We compared the outcome of 1,135 consecutive women with gestational age (GA) {{<=}} 63 days receiving either a medical (600 mg mifepristone and 1 mg gemeprost) or a surgical abortion (vacuum aspiration in general anesthesia).
