Society of Thoracic Surgeons issues guidelines to improve women's outcomes

Using data collected from its STS National Database, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) in the U.S. recently released a "Gender-Specific Practice Guideline" to provide surgeons with ways to help improve outcomes for women who undergo coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). "As clinical data become more accessible, physicians discover that what we know to do and what we actually do are surprisingly different.
