Report card on cervical cancer prevention underscores importance of HPV testing

According to a new report, top performing states in cervical cancer prevention all reimburse for U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved human papillomavirus (HPV) testing for routine screening through their Medicaid programs. The recognition of HPV testing as an indicator of success in the Women In Government report, "A Call to Action: the 'State' of Cervical Cancer Prevention in America," underscores the test's growing importance from a public health perspective.
