No association found between plasma homocysteine, B12, and folate levels

Researchers have investigated plasma homocysteine, vitamin B12 and folate in Alzheimer patients and healthy Arabs in Israel.

According to scientists writing in the Journal of the Neurological Sciences, "High plasma homocysteine (tHcy) is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease and stroke and Alzheimer disease (AD). An inverse relationship has been reported between tHcy and plasma B12 and folate levels."
