Pharma company announces orphan drug designation accepted for RX-0201

Rexahn Corporation announced that it has received orphan drug designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for RX-0201, the company's lead product candidate. Orphan designation for RX-0201 was accepted to treat people with ovarian cancer, renal cell carcinoma, glioblastoma, stomach cancer, and pancreatic cancer. These conditions are among the most aggressive and deadly human cancers. The federal government's orphan drug program helps fund research for drug therapies for diseases and conditions that affect fewer than 200,000 people.
