Blastocyst transfer is an effective strategy after implantation failure

In vitro fertilization (IVF) patients for whom embryo transfer hasn't worked may benefit from blastocyst transfer, suggest specialists in France. This approach, they say, offers better embryo selection and improved "uterine receptivity." "Clinicians who treat unsuccessful couples despite repeated transfers of good quality embryos face a challenge," wrote F. Guerif and colleagues, CHU Bretonneau, Tours. "Among the various strategies that have been described, embryo transfer at the blastocyst stage has been postulated to improve implantation."
