Researchers' work adds to obstetrics body of knowledge

Obstetrics data are the focus of recent research from Scotland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Study 1: Iron supplementation is most effective when given early in pregnancy, indicates a study conducted in rats. L. Gambling and colleagues, Rowett Research Institute, Aberdeen, Scotland, showed in earlier work "that maternal iron (Fe) deficiency not only reduces fetal size, but also increases blood pressure in the offspring when they are adults."
