Researchers' data advance obstetrics research

Data on obstetrics are outlined in reports from France, Israel and the United States. Study 1: Researchers in France believe obstetric care can do more to prevent cerebral damage in preterm babies. They wrote, "Reducing the incidence of cerebral damage in preterm infants has become a major objective of perinatal medicine. Recent studies have shown that intrapartum hypoxia is implicated in only 10% of cases, whereas prenatal factors are significantly linked with such damage.
