Digital mammography system showcased at national breast centers consortium

The Mammomat Novation, a full-field digital mammography system from Siemens Medical Solutions, was displayed at the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC) 2005 Conference. The system provides digital screening, diagnosis, and stereotactic biopsy capabilities in one system. A flat panel detector based on amorphous selenium (aSe) technology, Mammomat Novation enables a direct conversion of X-ray to digital information. The aSe detector technology has the potential to provide higher spatial resolution and greater clinical detail for better diagnostic accuracy.
