Studies describe new findings in obstetrics research

Investigators in Bangladesh, Taiwan and the United States have published new obstetrics data. Study 1: Cost prohibits standard of care for pregnant women in Bangladesh. According to a recent issue of the journal Reproductive Health Matters, "In Bangladesh, maternal mortality is estimated to be 320 per 100,000 live births, among the highest in the world, and most deliveries in rural areas occur at home. Women with obstetric complications fear to seek hospital core for various reasons; one of which is the tremendous cost.
