Cost effectiveness of four management strategies for ASCUS compared

A recent study found liquid-based cytology with reflex human papillomavirus (HPV) testing the most cost effective of four management strategies for atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance, or ASCUS. Alice A. Hughes and colleagues at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver, wrote, "Atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASCUS) are the most common abnormal cytological result on Papanicolaou (Pap) smear.
