Mammography data now available to patients through Patient Portability Program

The National Digital Mammography Archive (NCMA) is now available directly to patients through the Patient Portability Program. Developed, in part, by grants from the U.S. National Institute of Health, the NDMA is used by the healthcare industry to manage and store digital breast images and data. In doing so, the data is archived in a secured, HIPAA compliant repository which can only be accessed by authorized users. Breast studies which are part of the NDMA can be retrieved for second consultations, for use by clinicians in treating their patients, and are available to researchers for uses in clinical trials.
