Positive Abraxane survival data presented



March 31st, 2005

American Pharmaceutical Partners, Inc., (APPX) announced that the pivotal phase III clinical study of Abraxane for injectable suspension (paclitaxel protein-bound particles for injectable suspension) in patients with metastatic breast cancer demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in survival in second-line patients.

The data were presented at the 22nd Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference in Miami, Florida, by Edith Perez, MD, professor of medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Chair Breast Committee, North Central Cancer Treatment Group.
