Women at risk of more than one termination of pregnancy are older, multiparous

A study from Scotland found that women at risk of more than one termination of pregnancy tend to be older and multiparous, but that these factors were confounded. H.S. John and colleagues, Lothian University of Hospital, NHS Trust, Midlothian, stated, "One in five women will have more than one abortion in her lifetime." Their study aimed "to identify risk factors in women requesting termination of pregnancy (TOP) after previous TOPs so that women at risk of recurrence, attending for the first time, could be identified."
