April 7th, 2005
Further study of the oligogenic combinations researchers have found associated with risk of breast cancer in women under age 53 may shed light on etiology of the disease, they say. According to C.E. Aston and colleagues, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, "Common, but weakly penetrant, functional polymorphisms probably account for most of the genetic risk for breast cancer in the general population.
