Oncologists arrive at premetastasis tumor target size for screening equipment

Based on various mathematical models and biological data, cancer researchers at the Free University of Brussels state that 3 mm is the size at which breast tumor growth begins to accelerate; therefore, the tumor target size for new screening technology is 2 mm. "It is important to determine a breast cancer tumor target size for new screening equipment and molecular detection," said V. Vinh-Hung and R. Gordon, both at the Free University of Brussels.
