Toxicity of UFT and leucovorin higher in older women with advanced disease

Results of a Phase II clinical trial showed that ftorafur plus uracil treatment (UFT) and leucovorin produced increased dose-limiting toxicity in older women ({{>=}}70) with advanced breast cancer. Data from 10 patients were reported. "UFT at 300 mg/m2 per day as 2 divided doses and 30 mg leucovorin with each dose were administered orally daily for 21 days, followed by a 7-day rest period. ...[S]ix patients received treatment in their first relapse and three in their second.
